You Attract Who You Are

The other night when my girlfriend and I were hanging out I thought that I would light some candles to get the place smelling good while we were watching movies. As she was preparing to leave she leaned against the shelf to blow out the candles and the shelf fell down, wax splashed everywhere and there was a small bonfire on my carpet. The shelf that has been able to effortlessly support the weight of my vase and candles over the past couple of months suddenly collapsed when additional pressure was applied.

Such is life. When trials come and the additional stresses of life is applied to your emotions, finances and spirit your support team (friends and family) will either hold you up or collapse like a stack of cards, or should I say like my shelf? Therefore, build your support team wisely. Trials will come and when they come if you do not have a strong support team they will turn against you and make matters worse.

When the finances began running dry with the football team our secretary stole $10,000, our coach introduced our arena to another league and our dance team coach encouraged our entire dance team to quit. Because my business partner and I did not have a strong support team when the business started feeling the financial pressures everyone began looking after them. But, I do not fault them I fault myself. Being a self-centered individual at that time I attracted in my life other individuals who were self absorbed. Remember that you attract not what you want but who you are.

The first step to attracting the right friend, boyfriend or girlfriend into your life is to emulate the qualities that you desire. If you need support, be supportive. If you desire spiritual stability, focus on being more spiritually minded. Become the quality that you wish to attract and you will then naturally build a strong support team who will help you get over the hurdles of life.
