When did women achieve the right to vote? In the summer of 1920 the 19th amendment was passed by Tennessee the final state needed to pass the women’s right to vote into law.
However, the road was not an easy one. Women began fighting for their right to vote shortly after the Civil War in 1869. For 51 years women fought for the privilege of going to the polls, but which of them could have envisioned 2 women running for the President and Vice-President offices 88 years later?
Let this be a lesson to us all, that when we are reaching for something that is great, life changing and that will effect the generations to come that it will take longer than something that is temporal. And whenever you are seeking to accomplish something that is greater than yourself it will take more than your efforts to see it accomplished.
