I am following a bodybuilder on Twitter and he said in order for your abs to show your body fat needs to be lower than 10%. I thought that his statement was interesting as I have never heard that statistic before but from personal experience I have always had under 10% body fat what he said has proven true in my life. So due to this information I decided to put together 3 steps to help you lower your body fat so you can show your  abs.

  1. Be Consistent – How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Consistent effort overtime will help you shed body fat. To prove my point looks at the people who are always in the gym. When you look at their amazing bodies you can tell that they do not need to always be in the gym. Why? Because they are always in the gym. It’s a vicious cycle.
  2. Eat the Right – Let me rephrase that, “Eat Right Most of the Time.” Judge the fruit on the tree. Visit a fast food place and look at the majority of the people who are eating the food. If you keep eating what they eat you will look the way they look. Then go to the produce section in the grocery store and analyze the people the purchase produce. If you eat what they eat you will look the way they look.
  3. Use the Correct Form – When you are in the weight room don’t worry so much about the amount of weight that you lift. Rather use the right form. The men who lift too much weight on the bar and then lift with their back when the are doing bicep curls are not getting the most out of their reps. Form is everything, the amount you lift is secondary.

If you are overweight chances are you feel self-conscious about going into the gym. You think that people are judging you. However, when I see someone who is overweight come in the gym I get excited that someone is trying to change his or her lifestyle. But, at the end of the day most people do not think about you because they are too busy thinking about themselves. When I found this out I was completely liberated. Since everyone is thinking about them, no one is really thinking about you therefore there is no need to feel insecure.
