It seemed like they shunned everyone who was different than they. So I was hesitant to read this book but I heard such great reviews about The Shack that I decided to go for it anyways. After reading the book I realized that what I have learned from most of the Christians in my life was wrong. I agree with Jmoneymil, only this was my first time falling in love with God. Or should I say the black woman? :) I always had a problem with the exclusive mentality in Christianity. It seemed like they shunned everyone who was different than they.
