There are many negative effects of hydrogenated oils on the body. Hydrogenated oils is used in crackers, chips, French fries (well, basically all fast food), shortening, coffee creamers and the list continues. I know I love these foods too however, the long term benefits of staying away from hydrogenated oils far out weigh the temporary enjoyment of them. Here is a brief list of its effects for you to consider:
- Directly promotes heart disease
- Causes gallbladder disease
- Raises blood sugar levels
- Damages brain cells and impairs functionality
- Accelerates the growth of tumors
- Promotes breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer
- Raises LDL (bad) cholesterol and lower HDL (good) cholesterol
- Results in low birth weight infants
- Clogs arteries
- Accelerates the progression of type-2 diabetes
- Disarms the function of the immune system
- Promotes attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Lowers essential fatty acids in the breast milk of nursing mothers
- Directly damages blood vessels
- Causes high blood pressure
- Clogs arteries
- Cause gum disease and rotted teeth
