The 12 Most Persuasive Words in the English Language

Author, Frances Cole Jones in her book, “How to Wow,” talks about 12 most persuasive words in the English language. The words were the result of a study done by Yale University in 1970 and here is what the Yale study concluded:

The most powerful word in the English language is “you.” What does this mean? If you wish to experience success with client, a girl, a friend etc talk about them. Speak in terms of their success, their life and I promise YOU that they will find YOU to be the most interesting person on the planet. I have tested this time and time again but the people who find me the most interesting are the one’s whom I never talk about myself too.

Here are the remaining eleven words on the most persuasive word list:

  1. Money
  2. Save
  3. New
  4. Results
  5. Health
  6. Easy
  7. Safety
  8. Love
  9. Discovery
  10. Proven
  11. Guarantee

If you want to persuade someone to read your article, hear your sales pitch or to go out on a date with your backside then take these words into consideration and you will laugh at the successful results. And by the way, “How to Wow,” is a great book to read if you are in the business of selling yourself. [Hint: We are all in the business of selling ourselves.]
