Motivating your staff in the city of Denver or anywhere else in the country is going to take 3 things.
- Change – The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again, while expecting different results. Therefore, do something different. A manufacturing company found that when then switched the wattage in their light bulbs the productivity of their staff increased by 5%.
- Invest in your staff – I understand that in today’s economy many companies are holding back spending however, be different and make a purchase (it doesn’t have to be over the top) that would make the day better, easier or more fun for the staff coming to work.
- Give direction – People need goals and purpose in their lives in order to reach their full potential. If you are helping your staff to work towards goals, even if that goal is to leave your company, that employee will be a better employee for you.
If you are looking to change direction do so in a positive way, throw a party to celebrate that change or hire an outside speaker to launch the new atmosphere of the company.
