This past week as been one of the craziest in my life. And when I say crazy I mean good. Life has a way of making you beat your head against a wall for days, weeks, months and years at a time until you finally breakthrough the wall that has been holding you back. Interestingly enough the longer you beat your head against the wall, usually the bigger the breakthrough. Not sure why it works like that but, I will ask God and then get back to you.
This last week I went to the S.A.N.G. (Speakers Authors Networking Group) Conference in Las Angeles. Individuals such as Jack Canfield (author of Chicken Soup for the Soul), Darren Hardy (owner of Success Magazine), Les Brown (one of the top 5 motivational speakers on the planet) and a hundred other people whom you would want to meet if you wish to take your speaking business and book sales into the stratosphere.
Servant Leadership
So what did all of these successful individuals talk about from stage? Serving. Keith Ferrazzi, author of “Never Eat Alone” said, “Stalk your people with kindness.” (Don’t use that on your ex-girlfriend o.k? Just move on. LOL) Millionaire after millionaire said serve your clients…before you get paid, serve your clients more than what you get paid and serve the individuals whom you desire to be connected with. So many times we get caught up in the money. I know that I times I have to remind myself, “Steven! Stop chasing the money…and start adding value!”
Let me say this out of everyone I personally believe that I was the least qualified to be there. Now that does not make me less than but it just means as far as business and accomplishments were concerned their businesses were on another level however I learned a secret. In actuality I was not even supposed to be allowed to go to this meeting but do you know how I got in? I served one of my clients. I offered him value. So much that he made a call and got me in. Here I am, my business has only been in launch mode and supporting my backside for a total of 2 months and because I served one of my clients, God threw me into a conference where I could learn from individuals who earned more in one sale than my business has ever generated!
Serving SANG
But, during the conference I found out that I could serve even the most success of individuals at the SANG Conference because I had an area of expertise. I could serve them by helping them with their Internet marketing and online exposure. Every businessman and woman wants more exposure. And if you can help them get more exposure then they do not care how long you have been in business. If you can help them, then they want to do business with you.
Sound simple enough?
It is.
So who are you going to serve with your business today? If you can’t think of a way to serve the people with your business then leave a comment and I will help you brainstorm.

Yes, that is a valuable lesson to learn. It is by serving and supporting the success of others that we all go farther. Money happens as a by-product of integrity, creativity, consistency, and care. You are very fortunate to have had the SANG experience. And those attending shared it with the rest of us by social media!
How many times in my lifetime have I heard that serving and giving of ourselves is crucial to success. Something about the universal law of giving, it truly comes back and sometimes in ways one could never imagine. This is a valuable truth that we all should do our best to not only embrace but also apply.
