The real purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to unite a group of disagreeing, disgruntled men with one common vision of what they were fighting for. By signing this Declaration these men were signing their death warrant if the future America did not win the war. A group of men joined together with a definite goal, and the passion to see the goal fulfilled. The result was they overcame overwhelming odds to win a war and establish a nation.
