Do you hate your job? Do you hate your paycheck? Do you hate the hours that you work? Do you get an overwhelming sense of dread on Sunday evening because you realize that tomorrow begins another week working with people whom you do not get along with, while doing tasks that are not fulfilling to earn a paycheck that is not enough to pay your bills? If your answer is “yes” then you really need to start your own business.
Start Your Own Business Today
No really…start your own business…today. Do not talk about starting your business, do not call your friends to complain one more time about how much you hate your job, do not call your pastor to ask for spiritual guidance just start your business. You have been thinking about being an entrepreneur, you have watched movies and saw the star of the show have her own business and you thought to yourself I could do that, and you have felt like there is more on the inside of you to give than just punching a time clock.
So give! Give your gift, give your talent, give of yourself with no regards to how much money you are going to get paid for your service. I have reaped many great rewards by giving freely of my talents of which I will mention two. I met an amazing woman, by helping her gain more exposure in the city, and I reaped the time of two wise mentors who are helping get established in my purpose because of my willingness to serve others.
Give Your Gift
If you want to get out of your job help someone else in the area of your gifting. If you are musically talented, then join a praise team, give vocal lessons or volunteer for a record label. If you are good with computers find people whom you can help develop websites, troubleshoot, clear viruses and create logos. Know your gifting and then give your gift away.
I cannot explain the process of how this will open up opportunities for you to start your own business anymore than a farmer can explain how the ground breaks up a seed and turns that seed into a plant. But I can tell you that if you want to start your own business then you can start that business today by offering a service.
You might argue that giving away your talent does not qualify you for a business ownership because no money is being exchange, no business license is required and no office space is needed. But, offering a service and having people to serve is the foundation of all business.
Most start-up companies lose money in their first five years of existence. With this in mind, if you do not charge one cent for your services and stay in business for five years then you are earning more money than the average business owner. Secondly, you are fine tuning your service process so when you begin charging a fee you will have systematized your business to a level of professionalism so your customers will willingly pay your fees and then refer your services to their friends.
No More Excuses
So no more excuses. Take out a sheet of paper and identify your strongest talent (if you need help with this you can sign up for the “Free 7 Day Purpose Discovery Course,” located on the homepage). Then write down to whom you can give your talent away.
Welcome to the world of business! Today is a new day and you no longer have to hate your job because your employer is temporary and your new business will be your future provider.
