what are preacher's thoughts on "the secret"

What are the preacher’s thoughts on, “The Secret?” Well, I cannot answer that completely because I do not know which preacher you are talking about. However, I can explain the reaction that I get from most when I talk about the Law of Attraction, which is outlined in Byrne’s book.
Most write off this law as New Age and I have had several ministers speak out against the book. Personally, I do not know if Rhonda Byrne is a Christian or not but neither do I care. If you look throughout the ages Christians are scared of change. When the television came out we declared that it was the, “one eyed devil.” When the Internet came out we said that it was the Anti-Christ. When the Catholic Church heard Galileo Galilei declare that the earth revolved around the sun, they declared him a heretic, forced him to change his theory, and then made him spend the last years of his life on house arrest.

So I guess you should not be surprised that pastors have not caught onto the secret, which is the Law of Attraction. Actually, this principle has been around for thousands of years. Jesus said, “Whatsoever things ye desire when ye pray believe that you have received them and ye shall have them.” Paul echoed this when he declared “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” And now modern science declaring the same principle in modern day language states, “Your mind attracts what it thinks.”

The Law of Attraction is a natural law just like the Law of Gravity. Do not be scared of new information. If the principle is working, no matter what people call the method, then that principle has to be working on the foundation of God because there is no success without Him. That does not make them a Christian but where there is success, there is God’s law being implemented.
