What?…Your membership site is going to give me 10 Lords a Leaping? Isn’t that the original words to the song?
Oops…my bad. You are right…my bad. So I guess I will just have to go with it. It is written…and cannot be deleted (insert booming God-like voice).
The “Lords a Leaping” in the original, “12 Days of Christmas” referred to the 10 Commandments. These were the laws by which the Jewish nation were supposed to live. Moses after receiving these laws that were hand written by God came down and found his Jewish brothers and sisters whom God had just delivered out of the bondage of slavery, worshiping other gods…specifically a golden calf.
Moses then in a fit of righteous rage threw the commandments to the ground breaking the only document ever written directly by God. (To this day Moses is the only person to ever break all 10 commandments at once! LOL) So Moses then went back up to the mountain to ask God to forgive his people…after he made them drink melted gold from their beloved calf! Anyways, this time God made Moses hand carve the 10 Commandments himself. And you know what…Moses never broke the slates again.

Why was it easy for Moses to break the commandments? They were a gift that came without sacrifice. The next set of commandments, the ones that Moses wrote were stored in the Ark of the Covenant. And if the Ark was ever located you would still find his commandments in there.
