What are Jesus thoughts on truth? Christ said in the book of Matthew alone the phrase, “I tell you the truth” 30 times. Therefore, I would conclude that the truth was pretty important to Jesus.
But, to answer this question I want to focus on two verses. Jesus said “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free,” and “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
There is great power when you understand the truth of a situation. Only when you have all of the facts can you make a decision. However, use this rule of thumb just because you know the truth does not mean that you should declare it. Am I saying lie? No, but when you deliver the truth make sure the other person wants to hear your opinion on the truth of their situation first and secondly that you deliver that truth in love. We have all been hurt by statements that were based in truth but were delivered without tact or our inquiry therefore learn from your experience and do not put someone through similar pain.
