I have learned and am still learning that there is a unique difference between winning and losing…environment. Over the past couple of years I have made an honest attempt of surrounding myself with people who enjoy and practice a winning mentality.
2 questions you might be asking yourself, “Why would I do that?” and “How did I do that?”
Why Find Successful People?
“Why would I surround myself with people of a winning prospective?” Because success breeds success. By surrounding myself with the successful I will become a success. Side note: Success is NOT money…you should have your own special definition of what success means to you.
How to Find Successful People?
The second question is a little more difficult, “How did I surround myself with successful people?” I set up rules for myself of the type of person whom I wanted to be associated with. I wanted to be surrounded by people who shared my same morals, passion for a FULL life, who did what they said, and who were actively growing into the type of person that they wanted to become.
But, here is what I found. Everyone whom I encountered said that they were these things. None would say, “I am not a man of my word.” However, when they told me they would have something to me by Monday…then Tuesday rolled around I knew that they were not a person of their word. If so I would have had what I needed on Monday.
Now that doesn’t mean that I cut them off completely because everyone makes mistakes and some people are just unorganized but, their actions definitely sent up a red flag. A person should not be judged a success or failure, trustworthy or unfaithful due to one action. They should be judged on their actions over time. (And by judged I don’t mean “called out”)
But, I just put them in a certain box…one that did not have a direct line into my journey of success. So, as you meet people you don’t really know if they are who they say they are. At first take them for their word…but use their actions to analyze if their word is true.

Smart video and excellent words of wisdom to live by! Success and failure go hand in hand. If at first you don’t succeed try and try again! I believe I learned that lesson at a very young age.
Thank you Ann! They are hard lessons learned but the hard lessons are never easily forgotten.
