how to forgive god

a2 how to forgive god

How to forgive God? Why does God need to be forgive some may ask? Many of us we have had certain expectations of God that were developed in us either through our church leaders, family or what we feel like He told us that He was going to do. So how do you cope with God when He falls terrible short of your expectations?

Often time people respond by quitting church, not praying and even turning their back on God all together. Am I judging? Nope, because I have been there done and did the same. I recognize that we use this tactic because God seemingly hurt us so they try to hurt Him in the same manner. The problem is we just hurt ourselves more.

What I had to realize was that God did not hurt me. What hurt was when the reality of what God did or did not do fell short of my belief of what God was going to do. Sometimes God seems unjust and even wicked, Jesus Himself even said that in the parable of the unrighteous judge and the widow woman, but in life often times the reality of a situation is drastically different than the perceived reality.

So what do you do when you are hurt by God? Forgive Him. Forgive Him just like you would your neighbor, sister or friend who let you down. Think about all of the good things that God has blessed you with in your life and then think about the instance when He did not come through. I think you will conclude once your emotions subside that He has been more faithful than not.

Why should you forgive God? Just like when you are mad at your neighbor, the only person that anger hurts is you. Moving on past emotional hurt will only add blessings to your life.
