How to Find Customers Using Twitter

When I first started gaining followers in Twitter I was only interested in getting followers. In truth, I wanted to be or should I say appear popular. So I would just follow people who would hopefully follow me in return. To me Twitter was all about the numbers. Were you promoting ice cream? I followed. Promoting your marketing company? I followed. It was all about the numbers.

Now I want followers who are actually going to be interested in what I am teaching…low cost marketing strategies. Who are the type of individuals who are interested in low cost marketing strategies? Entrepreneurs. Business owners.

Finding Customers on Twitter

Now that I know who I am looking for…how do I find these individuals? For that I use Twitter Search and TwittGeek. Twitter Search allows you to find out what individuals are tweeting. Test various keywords using Twitter Search to find the people whom you want to connect with. If you are a church…search for individuals whom are talking about God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, baptism, tithing…etc. When you type in the keyword you will be instantly given a list of people whom are potential customers. Once you find the right keyword combinations that will give you your greatest return then go to TwittGeek.

TwittGeek is a free service that allows you to follow up to 200 people based on keywords. Simply type in the keywords that you have found bring you to your desired demographic through Twitter Search and then type that keyword into TwittGeek and hit start. You will then automatically follow 200 people. Sound easy?

It is…try it.
