How to Advertise Your Small Business

What is the biggest problem with small businesses? Not enough traffic…not enough business. Day in and day out you look for those practical, free methods that is going to market your business name to your demographic so you can capture their money and stay in business. But, if  you are not tracking where you are spending your money, and your marketing results then your advertising efforts may be in vain.

In the video above I interviewed Antonio Cleveland, CEO of  Divine Expressions, a marketing company located in Columbus, Georgia. In the video you are going to learn some strategies to help you advertise your small business. One of the areas in marketing that we did not get a chance to cover that I want to emphasis is being able to track your results.

Track Your Marketing

Regardless of which marketing campaign you are spending money on you need to know if your investment is bringing a return. Before you purchase a billboard, radio spot, etc know how you are going to track your success rate. To  track your marketing success rate: offer your clients 10% off if they mention the billboard or say if you call within the next 5 minutes (after they hear the radio advertisement) then you will get a free soft drink. These are good ways to distinguish what is working or what is not.

Until you track your marketing dollar the only thing you are doing is keeping advertising companies in business and potential pushing yourself out of business.
