Do you remember when your mother used to say things like: “What you think about you bring about,” “Watch what you say it just might come true,” “If you set your mind to it anything is possible,” and the list continues because mothers always have a lot to say, right? (I love you mom.) Have you ever thought to yourself that there may be a reason for these sayings? Could it be that there may be some truth to them?
Now I realize that you did not grow up in my household nor did you share my experiences of youth so this may be the first time you have ever heard any of these sayings. But, let’s look at the one common denominator in all of them…the power of your thoughts. Your mind is the most powerful force on earth. Earl Nightengale, who has been dubbed as the father of the modern day personal development industry, said that the human mind is the last unexplored continent. By thinking one thought man has moved a mountain, turned night into day, and has split the invisible. Don’t believe me? The bulldozer that was created in a man’s mind has leveled mountains. Thomas Edison is credited as the man who turned night into day with the light bulb, and if you have ever been to Time Square in New York City you will know what I mean. And man divided the invisible when he split the atom. Think about the enormity of just those 3 great accomplishments!
Once upon a time man said that it was impossible to do such things and you know what…back then it was. However, when one man stepped up to the plate and said not only is it possible but I am going to prove it to you. Then the impossible became possible. When one man, one woman said I do not care what logic says I am going to create the reality that I want and they did it. Did you know professionals once thought that man could not run a mile under 4 minutes and true to their predictions no one ever did. Not, until one man who had the courage to push to the limit and say not only is it possible but I am going to do it. Wiklipedia said this, “It was once thought by some to be impossible, but since it was first achieved in 1954 by Roger Bannister the ‘four minute barrier’ has been broken by many male athletes, and is now the standard of all professional middle distance runners.” That which was impossible is now the standard. Nothing changed in their bodies, only in their thoughts. Now what mindsets maybe holding you back? Most of us do not view our minds as possessing this great power because we have always had it and like most things that have been given to us for free, we take them for granted.
All creations were birthed from a thought. All of the beauty and evil that man has created was birthed from a seed that was nurtured into manifestation. Your thoughts of days past have created your life up to this point.
Trust me out of everyone who has learned this principle, I think that I like this revelation the least. However, I also realized I could change my tomorrow by changing my thoughts today. So if all creations derive from thought, create the tomorrow you desire by changing your thoughts today. How do you do that? Changing your mindset takes a consistent, deliberate effort and next week I will show you a practical way to accomplish this mind change. But, until then keep in mind (pun intended) what you think about you bring about, watch what you say about your life and your situation because it just might come true, and if you set your mind to a goal you can do anything.
