How does attitude influence the motivation to work? Have you ever had a bad day? No, of course you haven’t right? Everyone has. On those days the only thing you feel like doing is nothing, if that. When your attitude tanks your enthusiasm to do any activity tanks along with it.

Being negative takes a lot of energy. In fact being negative takes more energy than being positive as exemplified in the study proving that you use more calories and muscles to frown than smile. So how do you as a leader inspire a better attitude in your employees so they will work harder and with greater passion? Consistent praise and leading by example. It sounds cheesy and pretty elementary doesn’t it? But, ask yourself who has ever given you a sincere compliment that you did not like a little bit more?

When you compliment and praise those who work for you, they will enjoy coming to work more because chances are they are not receiving that kind of treatment at home. And when they enjoy coming to work they will work happier which will have huge rewards in both the environment and the bottom line of the company.
