Give and Your Customers Will Come

The Bible says, “Give and it shall be given unto you”, “He who sows bountifully will reap bountifully”, “What you sow is what you reap” and continues with many other scriptures about giving. In fact, the Bible talks about Christ being a seed that God gave to the world his eternal son so that he could reap many eternal sons (John 3:16).

Now, the purpose of this post is not to preach but to say that principles are principles and regardless of your faith you understand the laws of sowing and reaping but if you apply the same rules to the game of marketing your business will change.

Here are 5 ways to give your business away for more business

  1. Give FREE informationHelp people who need your services by offering them free advice. Doing so will position you as the expert in their eyes and when they stumble upon someone with the same problem…where do you think they will send them?
  2. Give Away ProductsGive away a low-ticket item that will lead them to purchase a bigger ticket item. People do this will samples, free seminars, software, eBooks etc.
  3. Give to Charity – Giving away a percentage of your profit to a charity will cause them to promote your business so that you will continue to fund their cause.
  4. Give Compassion – My dad is amazing at this and as a result he has not advertised his business in 30 years, yet he continues to grow and grow. My dad always takes time for people. You have a problem? My dad is sit down and listen to you. The result? Whenever someone in my hometown needs construction work done he or she ALWAYS call my dad. Why? If he cares that much about them when they are not paying him, how much will he care about the job when they are? Give compassion.
  5. Give Connections – Go out of your way to connect people with people. Last week I connected the founder of the National Human Society with some people at Success Magazine because they were both working on similar projects. The result? I helped their projects become more successful and now the founder of the National Human Society asked me to help her market the project. Giving your connections will cause you to reap more connections.

In short, we all have something to give. When you give it, you will reap it. So give, give, give. icon wink Give and Your Customers Will Come
