We have all heard of victims or Technorati Profile have been the victim of a computer virus. You go to a website, browse through the information, leave and the next thing you know you cannot use your computer or the thing is so slow that you want to throw it out the window. Most viruses are written for a PC so if you have a Mac you are a lot safer but not immune. I have heard horror stories of some of my readers having their computers shutdown as a result of a virus and recently I even had one friend who had his bank information stolen as a result of a virus.
I am not writing this article to scare you but to mearly show you why I thought it important to inform you about the McAfee protection software. McAfee has provided a free downloadable software that tests websites for viruses, spam, spyware and phishing. The software will warn you if a site has viruses, spam, spyware or phishing. As always you will want to read up on the information before you make a decision but I wanted to make you aware of this free software because it could save you a lot of headaches not to mention some cash.
