effects of sugar on the body

a3 effects of sugar on the body

Many are the negative effects of refined sugar on the body. Now, I love sugar as much as the next person. In fact I am drinking a large glass of sweet tea as I am writing and will probably will get a refill however, the effects of too much sugar in the body is dangerous.

Refined sugar is void of protein, fat, and nutrients and only contains empty calories. When sugar is consumed the body must borrow vital nutrients such as calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium to make use of sugar in the body. In some cases so much calcium is taken from the body that the bones, teeth included, become brittle.

Sugar also is responsible for diabetes, gallstones and making the blood thicker and sticky which prohibits its travel to smaller vessels, which can cause gum disease. Sugar comes in many forms from the soda we drink, to processed food, on into the sugar we place in our coffee and I know that it tastes good but, for our futures sake, not to mention future health bills, lets cut back.

Let it not be said of us what is said of others who, “spent their health to gain wealth, and then spent their wealth trying to regain their health.”
