Don't Try, Do

Have you ever heard someone say, “I will try to make it.” Let me help you…they won’t. Muhammad Ali was famous for prophesying the round when he would knock his competitor out and for speaking in absolute terminology. He continued this confident speech throughout his career until he met Joe Frazier. Leading up to this fight Ali, for the first time in his career, used the word “if” and suffered his first loss to Frazier.

Words like “try” and “if” express doubt and faith cannot exist in the presence of doubt. To achieve definite results speak in definite terms. Say “I will” and you will. Say “I will try” and you won’t.
