How do you learn to operate a small business? To successfully run a small business you need to know budgeting, marketing, people skills, and systems. You learn through reading, listening and attending seminars on these subjects. Success is won through the mind.
Budgeting – Spend less than you make and have a savings because business will not always be good.
Marketing – Who is your demographic? And how are you going to creatively reach them. Junk mail is just that…please don’t do it.
People Skills – Seek to understand before being understood and remember that people do not do things to you they do things for themselves.
Systems – McDonald’s is a multi-billion dollar corporation that is ran by high school students do not tell me good people are hard to find and that is why your business is not doing so well.
Keep learning. Know your strengths and stick to them and then hire people to make your weaknesses look like your strengths.
